Coastal Pecan Pasture

I had a bright idea to carry my pack to a coastal field about a mile from my house to paint.  Cows were off in the distance, but they did not even notice me.  As I set everything up, I heard a truck coming.  It was the cowman who owns the livestock, coming to check on them.  When he saw me, he remarked, "You walked all the way here?"  And when the cows saw him, they came running.  All my equipment went back in the pack so I could give the cows room to get through the gate.  After the commotion, I set up again, only to discover I'd forgotten my white paint, and my towels.  I drew some lines, put on a layer of darks, packed up and walked home.  So this painting is now, officially, a studio painting.
