Eternity at Iglesia Tres Piedras

This is from a photograph I took in Tres Piedras, New Mexico.  I was traveling from Cuchara, Colorado to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2016, and Tres Piedras is the turn off to Taos.  I'm enchanted with old adobe buildings, especially churches, and the chamisa weed that covers the desert.  Two years later, in 2018, I traveled the same route from Buena Vista, Colorado to Cloudcroft, New Mexico through Tres Piedras.  Remembering the photo I'd taken in 2016, I finally decided to paint from it when I got home.  This painting won a ribbon at the 2018, 5th Annual Burnet Plein Air Festival "Open" Show.
